Better formally known by his stage name as Rizzy Rizz and now Epanda Rizzy, the Down and Under Superstar has spinned back to give you the remake of Down & Under, a popular Namibian Hip Hop track that trended on the charts a couple of years back.
The Amapiano classic remix features Hishishi Papa and was produced by Arafath, one of the Country's top Producers. The song is currently enjoying airplay. We asked Rizzy a couple of questions pertaining his career and here is the 411.

Epanda Rizzy

Lazpak : Who was the Producer of the first Single and when was it released? and was it your breakthrough into the Namibian Music Scene?

E.R : The original Down and under beat was made by a producer called MK from Black poetry. The song was recorded at Krazzy-E! Studios. Mixed and Mastered by Stalin at RVinc.
It was released in 2006 as the 2nd single from my debut album "Efimbo Olafika". I'd definitely say Down and under ft Arthur was very impactful both locally and across Africa because it was the first Namibian music video on Channel O, DSTV back in the days and it was nominated in the SANLAM MUSIC AWARDS so it definitely opened up doors for the team.

Lazpak : What is the difference between the two Songs?

E.R :  Well the new song "Down & under 2.0 Ft Hishishi PAPA is an Amapiano reboot produced by Araffath for Tripple 7 studios and Rain music. The difference between the two two songs is in the storyline. The couple that broke up in the original song got back together in 2.0 and she cheated again with a married man. The first song is Hip Hop/R'n'B and new song is Amapiano to cater for the current market.

Lazpak : How did you convince Hishishi Papa to back you up on the Song?

E.R : I worked with Hishishi PAPA on my first single that was released in October 2008 called Ehafo and we both work with the same producer "Araffath Muhuure" so it was just natural. Plus he brings a more mature approach on the song.

Lazpak : What took you soo long to release a single?

E.R :  Just trying to do things a step at a time for better quality products.

Lazpak : How does it feel working with Arafath?

E.R : Working with Araffath is great cause we've literally become brothers. We have a good understanding in production so much so that we are even working on visual content as well.

Lazpak : What is your take on the Music Industry during the Covid-19 lockdown??

E.R :  The music industry is really suffering during the lock down because we depend heavily on a physical audience. The recent arrests of musicians is proof of entertainers just trying to earn a living. I'm happy that corporate is giving support during this hard times and the fans are also rallying behind the artists. Fellow artists we need to be strong and united. We'll get through this.

Lazpak : How do you use social media to market your work?

E.R : Social media is very useful for marketing. I personally have created various accounts that cater to my different departments.

Lazpak : Who is your current Namibian Female crush?

E.R : My girl will kill me but I'd say Anna Shiwedha.

Lazpak : How will you make sure the song is in everyone's phone in Namibia.

E.R : The song is currently already spread very far in people's phones. It's even in the UK. WhatsApp and Donlu Africa downloads doing the most.

Lazpak : Are you still affiliated with Mufaro?

E.R : Mufaro and I will always be brothers. I am still in touch with him and Stalin, and they are great advisers.

Lazpak : Who has the biggest influence currently in the Namibian music scene, and how do they inspire you?

E.R : My Producer Araffath and Gazza. These guys inspire me cause they've been so consistent and dedicated to making hit songs..

Lazpak : Any Music Video?

E.R : Yes we are planning to shoot a hot video for the song.

Thank you!!
