Weddings update + Videos (Rolfie & Ruth)

We shot two beautiful Weddings last year but never really got to share them with you. We review them here and see how we can better our shooting skills for future projects.

First up is Rolfie Wedding.

It's a windy but subtle Saturday morning of the 6th October 2018. Rolfie, walks out of his house all dressed up and ready for the day, as we approach readying our camera on the Stabilizer.  the only concern he has is getting the church ready and he is busy scouting for a number to call one of the event organizers. His Father passes by us, with a surprise look he realized we were the official Videographers of this Wedding.

In the House, Rolfie's Siblings and Best Men are cracking jokes, with excitement, you could tell they too were hoping for this day to come.

This is the Wedding we were anticipating to shoot all year long after it was booked, because it was Interracial and it was the first of its kind in a racist ridden Gobabis were you seldom see Weddings of this magnitude taking place. Rolfie once told me that it was kind of difficult to convince his family that he has found himself a black wife. The bad energy has settled now that he has finally moved in with his wife.

Our fear was that maybe we would not live up to it's Production Standard because we never really had to shoot a white couple before, but we took the chance and used all our professional aspects towards its production. The very same aspects we would use on any client if we are treated professionally. I comfortably feel the outcome were at its best because for the first time I had time to decide on the shots, re think the shots, delete what I did not need and even took a refreshing breather at the Photoshoot.

Rolfie is of German decent, and was born in Gobabis by a German Father who previously resided in Zimbabwe but moved to Namibia earlier for Farming purposes.

Rolfie, on the right his Father Quinten in the Middle and Brother Axel on the right.

Ruth on the other hand is Damara who is also based in Gobabis. The Romance started three years ago when one time Ruth made Rolfie a cup of Tea, and he just loved how the Tea was prepared, that's how the romance unfolded.

At Goba Lodge, we are greeted by Rolfies Sister Carina and her Friend as they tie and straightened they swag. They too are excited and hoping that the day goes well. I never usually shoot both sides of the Families because I rarely get transported to be at two places because most clients would feel its not important. Infact it is very important.

In short, this was a cool Wedding. I enjoyed every aspect of shooting it, and the reviews are just as awesome. Stay logged on for our next Wedding review...
