Best of the Lappa Plus Rise & Fall (2017)

Last year I embarked on opening up the first Multimedia Production studio in Gobabis. This studio will cater for Professional Photography Services as well as Videography and all other graphics related Productions within Gobabis and Namibia at large. Watch the Full Picture timeline of the Lappa in pictures, and I give you the simplest reasons why it closed down.

From February 2017 till 28th November I had offered those at the Lappa, unfortunately it had to be closed later in early January due to lack Financial resources to keep it alive.

Ouh yes Why did Lazpak move that side in the First place?

I moved to the Lappa because of its perfect Design inside and outside. Secured, peaceful, creative, and far from the noise. These were the main reasons. A media hub is also not ment to be in the middle of a CBD. According to my experience as a Media Professional, we always chose a place that is a bit far from the noise just to concentrate more and complete the job properly.

Omaheke Radio

The Lappa was also aimed at being The Omaheke Radio Admin spot (of where I am also a Board Member), but because the move to the Lappa was done in secret, it brought a bit of doubt with my associates, so i ended up running it alone.

Financing

Well unfortunately Gobabis is just another Town growing Slowly slowly slowly but surely, therefore Services of my nature are not that impactful, and therefore requires a Financial source to market the Place. We had failed to get a proper Financial sponsor, thus causing closure after efforts writing and consulting Financial firms. It had nothing to do with the Public's opinion.

Visitors

The Lappa attracted a lot of residents of Gobabis and those outside. Some of the Visitors posed at our Selfie Corner. Most of the visitors were usually looking for Business and some were family Friends.

Employment

The Lappa employed an Admin Assistant from September to Novemebr 2017. We also partly employed a Production Assistant.

We give training to our employees by working with other bigger Media Educational institutes
(Milli, College of the Arts). Our employees receive certificates after training.

Things to Consider next time

Qualifications of employees (it's hard to tell who is qualified or not, because degrees do not make any justice, experience counts more), Financial Control, Marketing, Project Management, Partnerships, Beyond Borders

Conclusion

The Lappa's growth or Lazpak's Growth or any other Business is depended on Funding and more Funding just because of an expensive and demanding industry it operates in. With income from the Lappa, the Lazpak was able to update and purchase Post Production Equipment, Finance their own monthly WIFI bills, create employment and most importantly preserve peoples memories. There will be another Lappa, just a better version of this one.

JEINO - NEW S&&T

We shot Jeino's New Ish video entirely at the Lappa, with co directing from Maruu. The Video is currently enjoying airplay on Namibian Television stations, and was recently spotted on Channel O. Jeino is currently recovering from an accident injury. The Artist has some cool new songs he recorded while healing at home. Coming soon on this Blog.

Other projects not mentioned here never made it out of Gobabis. This include CamRap's East Side Music Video.
