Nyemba is one of Zambia's unique, refreshing and home grown artists. The 28-year
(born 27th October, 1986) daughter to Anderson and Monica Nyemba,
female headline artist on Independent Record Label Ikonik Music, has gone from strength to strength in forging a
formidable performance with her ability to express herself by using her talents
in music, this has lead to a lot of expectations from everyone that hears her unique sound both in the industry
and listeners.
Nyemba completed
her school at David Kaunda Technical School in 2004, she got married straight
out of school in 2005 to a loving and supportive husband (Stanely Banda) and
together they have three children, namely Kezya, Taonga and Angel (Two girls and
one boy).
Married for 9
years and hopes to be an inspiration to young women who have given up their
dreams
Having faced a
lot of challenges getting into the music industry, she was criticized for being
a young married woman by outsiders and that she can never make it in music. Her
young sister (Monica) encouraged her to take a leap of faith and go for her
dreams.
She Went on and auditioned at Digital X were
she did some recordings for 2years. It was hard as an independent artist, then
she did her first ever song to play on radio which features Dandy Krazy title
Ninshi Ilenga.
She went on and
auditioned for the music show Ultimatum slinger
which showed on ZNBC Tv2 and came
out fourth. After staying
for some time without a label upon giving up a friend of mine hooked me up with
Kasweka Kay, who loved my music the very first day we met and agreed to work
with me.
Thanks to
Kasweka I got signed to Ikonik Music under the management team (Cee Jay, Tony Shuk
and Kasweka Kay). Having worked
with already established Zambian artists such as Cactus Agony, Dandy Krazy
& Tyce Zig, Ikonik artists Tony Shuk & ProSyd, only to mention the few.
She recently released her new video ''Mutima Wanga'' on Youtube, and is working on her EP under the Zambian based Ikonik Music label.
Nyemba is quickly
developing into one of Zambia's promising musical talents.
