Kavax - From Kwaito to House? + Scoop

Kavax aka Etenda lamafo says Kwaito Music is dying out,just like it did or is in South Africa.House music and trance have taken over the charts everywhere you go in Africa and Europe..Kavax one of the Veterans in the Kwaito Genre in Namibia is now working on his long awaited  LP entitled ''The Return''.

The album will feature Prominent South African in-house DJ's and Producers,from the likes of DJ Tenny-T to DJ Bobo and more Local Music Gurus ranging from Atushe,Jossy Tre VDK and many more.The album will drop sooner just before the winter starts.

The interesting thing about the Album is the combination of different In House Music Producers too, who are seen as the next big thing when it comes to locally produced jams.

Kavax teamed up with,Bizz The late Eclipse??,Apolous Wise Man,AB Fresh,Elvo,Penda,and many more. Now with that combination,you expect nothing but the best of what Namibia has to offer.

Working with International Artists has seen a lot of Namibian Musicians having favorable airplay outside the country,with countries like South Africa Airing Namibian made Videos on Channel O.kavax says working with international artists adds value to ones music and that it gives you a better chance to compete internationally.

'I Want to penetrate the international markets and thus promote namibian Music Internationally'' He said excitedly states.

kavax has matured totally with his new album,not only focusing on kwaito but also other international genres like House,Which has taken over everywhere and Hip Hop which has seen a lot of Namibian Artists climbing ladders to success in a very short period.

'kwaito is not playing everywhere in Southern Africa as it used ,so there's no point in doing kwaito songs.''

I want to possess the power to make my own shows in order for you to be an all rounder, You must catch up with the new music trends.If you want to be reckoned with in high end bars like fashion bar,lapalms,than your music must be of an international flare''The artists states.

With the Music industry dubbed as growing and creating potential Artists,Kavax himself has a totally different view,one being that the industry is still dead and that not a lot is being major players in the Industry.

''In the beginning the Industry was nice because of Tafel Lager,castle lager and Coca Cola,who used to promote local artists through Town Tours,Road Shows,and such but things have changed now''

Now companies only choose one Artist who is endorsed for almost five years,without taking cognizance of other artists as-well''

Kavax also states that only a certain group of artists will say the industry is good because their they are the only ones getting all the benefits.

''That is the Biggest blow within the Music Industry..The rest of the Artists wont say the Industry has gone to an extreme,as much as there is talent only a few will be chosen''

Asked as to what can be done,the laid-back Kwaito hit-maker,says that Local radios and tv's are the once promoting none serious artists and thus should do away with that and start seeking for Quality Materials..thats also another way of uplifting the Industry..
