Slammer - Fresh From Da hood EP + Short Scoop

We give you an exclusive summary of Slammer,The name Hip Hop Artst who has been in underground since 2003 until he released his first single ‘Dance 4 me’  in 2008.

We got a quick four one,one with him to tell us more about his LP and what he thinks of the MTC Music Awards.

Birth Date : 3^rd February 1988

 Hobbies   : hanging out with Friends, in the studio sippin on sum ailes.

 Favourite Hangout spot : I am a Baller,Iam every where,we don’t stick to one spot.

Favourite food: Chicken, Roasted Warthog meat,Mint Sweets Pap en Vleis.

What do you look for in a woman? : She has to understand who iam and know where iam coming from and know what I want in life, She gotta be herself around me all the time.She gotta smell good all the time because she is a woman.

EP : The Ep contains songs produced by various in-house Hip Hop Producers and Executive produced by well renowned master Mind to the resurrection of Hip Hop in Namibia, the Eclipse from the Mad Boy Genius Records. It features a whole collection Namibian Hip Hop and the skilfully talented M-dwayne. Slammer rates the local music industry at 7 out of ten and asked to why says that, ‘The local industry ist still growing at a very fast pace,the Financial part of the industry is still not progressing though,cause artists cant afford major studios, Artists cant afford to make a show and a whole lot other discrediting factors.

 The MTCAwards will be aired in May 2011.With MTC’s new partnership with The NBC to create a stunning show for the nation and the artists at large,major artists have failed to uphold to their true Artistry standards.Cases of violence have been reported in the local media,blaming major record labels for causing violent attacks on other local artists at local shows.So the questions still remain,which Artists will benefit this time? ‘ it's a great thing to have organizations lookig in to the music industry to help build it up and put the country on the world map,Musically. But MTC and NBC need to look at the whole package when judging.They have to look at how this Hip Hop Artist or any other local artist has been working on throughout  the year,wether he has progressed from one level to the other or whether he or she  achieved neccesary requirements,which by all means would have been circulating in local medias.'' Slammer states.

Asked about violence,the tall  hip Hop laid back rapper says, ‘ I wont motivate any violence in the local music industry because the nation is watching and young kids that follow their music  will start doing that,and in  the process  mislead them’.

LP : Slammer’s long awaited LP entitled ‘Fresh from Da Hood’ will be launched between and April or May 2011,but still needs to promote the EP which is available for download exclusively on the lazpak Blog.
