Ponti Marries,Qualifies for top 100 IDOLS in S.A.

 Ponti,the Famous singer who brought you the smash single Let's get together with Gazza has made it to the final hundred of the new season of Idols in South Africa. lazpak.com spent a day with the newly wedded couple at their home.They talk about marriage and why Ponti decided to follow God....and The IDOLS Experience! Ponti has been in the music industry for as long as anyone can remember.He is currently working on a trio project consisting the likes of Tayshaun and Ralph, who are managed by super producer, Arafat. The Trio’s debut Album is due out early next year, which promises to be the best collabo Album in Namibia. Ponti has been seen mostly at functions hitting African Drums with his Kongoma Family, but just when you thought that’s all he could do offer, you were mistaken, the tall Masculine brother has decided to do Opera Music, a very rare genre of Music in Nambia.Asked why he chose that, ”When you sing opera Music, you can sing almost anything”. His newly wedded wife Miriam Dikuua! An Audit Manager at Delloitte explains that, music has a very technical approach.”It teaches every little aspect of true musical expression, like how you breathe and open up yourself".

Ponti has been singing along with his wife at weddings, and all kinds of gatherings, even before the two eloped,but have never gone professional at the same time. About his GMP attachment, Ponti states that he was never signed up by GMP,”I was going to do it but i just changed my mind”, he explains. But up to this moment he maintains a very close relationship with them. He explains that working with Gazza was always an honour. "we got along very well.Never had arguements and all the other wicked music politics!

"THE IDOLS EXPERIENCE"

In early May 2010 Ponti drove all the way to Cape Town for the Idols Auditions, Hoping for a spot in

the next round. He was fortunate to be selected through to the top 100.The Auditions where

broadcast, this past weekend on Mnet, which is also the biggest pay per view television Network in

Africa at the moment.”It was really overwhelming, being in front of the likes of Freshly grounds lead

singer Zolani Mahola, Judging you and actually telling you she likes what she’s hearing, “It’s just

awesome”. Ponti performed the Boys to Men Classic Yesterday. The Next round of The Idols is to take place at the beautiful Sun City, by the end of august 2010.

"BEING BORN AGAIN"

After Ponties parents died of Diabetes in a period of one year,Ponti at the time aged 16 decided to

give his life to God,"Becasue God was the only one that could provide solace"he explains.Being young and tempted by the earthly pleasures Ponti lost touch with God.  He also explains that when you don’t have Someone to play the roles of parents or just any one to be a Mentor it’s very difficult.”I didn’t even finish my formal school,ended up until grade 10 “because no one could afford my school fees” he emphasises.  “My current achievements made me realise how blessed and how the grace of God was always there there for me".

"GETTING MARRIED"

Ponti & Miriam tied the knot at the end of June this year after a very undeniable life long

relationship of friendship, sisterhood and brotherhood. Being involved intimately for over four years,

The Gentleman decided to propose to the beautiful Miriam in January this year and in a space of five months, the two eloped. Asked how they kept the flame burning:”she was everything i wanted in a woman; he explains that he needed a woman that understands him, who has his back at all times.

Miriam who is also older than Ponti by four years,explains that they always communicated very well throughout their relationships, even as friends, they always did. And that made it stronger and easier to share a confidence in each other.

“My husband is very compassionate, he always has a heart for others, and we have a lot in common.”she excitedly explains!

Miriam started Playing Piano from the age of eight,but her singing passion was discovered through

school and University Choirs. Miriam & Ponti were invited by the Namibian embassy in Germany to go and perform at the Independence celebrations during March this year,"We had a good experience there,met new people,and performing in a very overcrowded arena.The pair state.
