Karlos Lokos - The Best Music Producer in the making

On a daily basis karlos lokos, one of the pioneers within the local Music, would actually find himself either in an office doing what brings bread on the table or you will find him in the studio doing what he loves best, and that's producing music. Karlos emerged into the music industry in the year 1999 with the musical group called then the  Dungeon Family,as a rapper.shortly after that he joined a Hiphop group called Zero Degrees, were he worked on an album that was never released to date.

He was than introduced to music making software by one of the earlier producers Jay pee and than after getting a good understanding of music production he formed his own label "showzone" in 2003,where he released hits like S'otwaya which featured well prominent Artist the dogg and also later within his production house worked with the likes of Sunny Boy.From there in 2003 Karlos lokos moved to Oshakati and returned to Windhoek in 2005 where he started working on his Much anticipated debut album "Timeless" and later released in September 2008.The album includes the works of the multi award winning producers Elvo and trace who he states them as mentors.Towards the end of 2008 he left showzone to start his own label "Lokos infinity" which would be a label that is inloved in Music production,a fashion line and a social club.Asked to comment why a social club?."My other passion besides music is to make a difference in people's lives which i actually do in many different ways".he states.

Currently Karlos lokos has been involved in projects with the newly emerging production house Blend Productions were he works closely with exit & Mushe."I chose to work with this clan because we have a lot of things in common, they are creative, innovative and open minded, besides that, i  realised that this boys also have the passion for music and working with them will take us both to a level where no other artist have ever been".

On the Current Views of The Local music Industry: "the industry has grown up to a certain level, but once again it's starting to stagnate.A lot of artists are starting to loose focus and there is a lack of working together because of unconstructive criticisms within artists themselves, instead of helping one another for the sake of the Indusrty".he points out.

"As artists we need to know our limits and recognise our weaknesses because that's the only way we are going to grow, for Example you  might have a good voice but you are not a good writer,so instead of writing your own song let those who are talented with writing do it for you. This happens because we dont want to give credit to others and this in the end kills our music. Some artists have good beats but their words have no meaning.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab
inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!

LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
